Although your menu may be the most attractive you have ever seen in terms of design and imagery used, you still may not be doing enough to convince customers to order from your business. Many owners tend to overlook the fact that they need to give customers one last incentive to order from you, which is often in the form of a discount. Here are some to consider.
One of the most common discounting methods is to include vouchers or coupons in the menu. Usually these will be dated, meaning that they will only be valid for a certain amount of time. This will help to tempt a customer into ordering from you sooner rather than later so that they can save some money.
As well as discount vouchers and coupons, you should also contemplate the idea of designing a few "meal deals". These are usually a selection of popular choices, combined in a logical order. A typical example would be a large piece of chicken, combined with a small order (such as popcorn chicken or wings), chips and a drink. These types of deals often become a takeaway or restaurants most sold choices.
As well as offering other discounted rates, you should also consider incorporating special rates aimed at the student market. If you are located close to a University, then you can be sure that the majority of your customers will in fact be students. Unfortunately students don't tend to have a huge amount of expendable income, so they will be looking for the cheapest price available to them. By offering them a special rate, you could really corner the market and attract all of their custom away from your competitors.
