First Impressions play a huge role in the growth and even survival of many businesses. Many restaurants and takeaways are no different, with them all desperate to ensure the impressions they have off customers are good ones. Usually this will be based upon the presentation of the menu, so it's vital that it is well received.

Menu design and printing is an art form so to speak, with there not being any real set rules, or guarantees of success. There will be many companies available that will be able to call upon their experiences to create your menu, but if you fancy making it yourself, read on for some useful tips.

The layout plays a vital role in helping customers to make a decision about what food they are going to order. The items should be grouped to together in a logical and ideally sequential order. On menus, images and photographs should only be used to enhance the look and feel, whilst trying to tempt a customer into making an order. If you use too many images throughout your menu, the effect will be greatly diluted. So only incorporate images of your better selling, or specialty dishes. As well as this, avoid using any poor quality images and always refrain from using clip art!
