A common problem for newbies to eBay when starting a business is knowing what they could sell.
When i'm asked about what to sell on eBay by a newbie when first getting started on eBay I find like most people they stumble not really knowing where to turn for help and advice and are overwhelmed by the number of options available to them.

When I was first looking for ideas I started talking to family and friends and asked them what they liked to buy. At the time my sister was planning a hiking trip and was looking to buy a two man tent. When I did some research for her I found dozens of others looking for similar things.
If you have been in a books store recently or looked at a news stand you will notice a plethora of magazines and books on any number of subjects.Ask the book store owner which books and subjects are hot at the moment and this will help to point you in the right direction for what is in demand.
You might not know but even eBay has ways you can find out which products are selling well at the moment. If you visit the eBay Seller Central section of eBay you can find under 'What's Hot' the most popular items being sold on eBay at the moment. Obviously this is used by many people but a bit of lateral thinking should spark some ideas.
One thing to remember you are very unlikely to find one unique product that is selling well and you should look to diversify you product range as you build your eBay business. After all you can't make a living selling surfboards in the middle of winter or snow shoes in August can you.
As of now you are still pretty much at a loss what to sell but just start applying some of these ideas and it won't be long before you are up and running.All I recommend is you build your business slowly and don't rush in to things until you have done enough research.
