You love to surround yourself with essential oils, perhaps have a vaporiser or oil burner in your home, office or clinic. But what about when you go outside? In the car many people resort to synthetic air fresheners, but these are not a great option - and think about the synthetic chemicals your are inhaling. The atmosphere in the average car is very enclosed. Opening the window is often not an option due to the fumes from other road users - or just the vagaries of the weather.

The atmosphere in the average car is very enclosed. Opening the window is often not an option due to the fumes from other road users - or just the vagaries of the weather.
So what can you do? Well there are alternatives using aromatherapy.
Essential oils can still be used in the car - with great results.
My top five "motoring" oils are -
Lemon - fresh and zingy, lemon is also good for keeping the mind focused - essential for the driver
Spearmint - like peppermint, this is great for nausea from car sickness, but is less aggressive than peppermint, making it perfect for the confines of a smaller space.
Rosemary - great for focus and concentration
Sweet orange - sweet and fresh and great if the kids are in the car
Eucalyptus - closed environments are great for harbouring germs over the colder months, when we are even less likely to open a window - eucalyptus is the classic oil for winter coughs and colds
Place just a couple of drops of essential oil on the pad of one of our Car Vaporisers and insert into your car's cigarette lighter point. Alternatively, put the drops on a cotton ball and tuck near the air conditioning outlet. And for those with stuffy noses or car sickness try inhaling the oils directly from a tissue.
Here are a couple of "motoring" oil blends recipes to get you started
