Do you hate the thought of exercise? Can\'t be bothered? Always too busy? Well we all have moments when we simply don\'t have the energy to even think about exercise let alone do any. I have moments when I kid myself into thinking that exercise will only make me more hungry than I was before I started, so what\'s the point. Well, let me tell you - exercise needn\'t be a strain and it can be very therapeutic.

Mental and Physical Benefits

Exercise makes you feel better about yourself and can also curb your appetite - especially beneficial for those interested in losing weight. Even doing simple gentle exercises, like yoga, can improve your spirit enormously. Just 20 minutes of yoga or meditation can make you feel so refreshed, you can tackle anything! A healthy lifestyle can drastically improve your well-being!

Healthy living can provide both mental as well as physical health benefits.

There is certainly a connection between physical well being and healthy eating which can affect our mood.

Dealing with Depression

Eating healthily can improve your general well-being and it will also give you more energy to get on with your day to day activities. A balanced, healthy diet can also help you manage depressive moods. It is important to eat healthy regular meals and include some wholegrain cereals, fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds which are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Repairing The Body

Protein, found in meat, fish, dairy products, beans and lentils, is important for the growth and repair of our bodies.

Improving Your Mood

It is important to ensure you drink enough fluids. That's not to say copious amounts of beer and wine, although a little can be beneficial. Drinking the right kind of fluid can improve your mood and avoid irritability and loss of concentration. Beware of drinking too many drinks containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea and some energy drinks as these may have a dehydrating effect. Instead, drink more water and herbal teas.

Reducing Anxiety

Studies have shown that regular physical activity has positive benefits for mental health and can help people recover from depression. Exercise can improve ones mood and reduce anxiety as well as improve concentration. Exercise can also give us that happy feeling of well being and healthy glow.

Be Creative

Exercise does not have to involve expensive gym memberships but should be an activity you enjoy - like playing tennis, swimming or even taking a country walk with your friends or loved one.

Go Easy

You don't need to overdo it! As I said before, gentle exercise can be more beneficial than you think. You don't need to slog your guts out doing a marathon to feel good about yourself.

Choose what suits you best and enjoy what you do.

Best wishes
