From as far back as many of us can remember there was the keyword. Keywords being particular words or phrases that are relevant to the searches internet users make when looking for the subject matter of your site. They are the so called darlings of the SEO world; even the small ones are revered greatly.

Human Readers - Robot Crawlers

If, for example's sake, we say you're a hot rod aficionado with a website devoted to the hobby then 'collectible cars' might be one of your keyword phrases. You get the drift, most of us do now. We've heard of the importance of keywords. We know that in theory, a written article that has a high ratio of them will gain better pick up from the search engine robots than one which doesn't feature them much at all. That's in theory at least, but in practice content that is overly peppered with keywords, or 'stuffed' to use the accepted terminology) doesn't go down well with human readers.

While the use of keywords is a vital part of any SEO campaign it's not the be all and end all and it can actually be ineffectual if human beings, the very creatures you are trying to attract, find your content impossible to read because of clumsy and repetitive use of keywords.

Strike a Balance

In this a balance must be struck between keeping a written standard that means you can engage the human reader and satisfying the search engine robots that play a perpetual and relentless game of hide-and-find with your keywords.

Aside from the humble but infinitely powerful keyword there are other SEO methods that can boost popularity of sites and gain a healthy visitor quota to an online location. Essentially a good SEO hosting or Class c hosting foundation will cover all aspects of how to best optimize your internet presence and not just the keywords aspect, powerful though they are.
