As a professional SEO article service I have witnessed a great deal of confusion, misunderstanding and downright idiocy when it comes to writing articles for the web, or content for websites. Creating effective SEO articles or search engine optimized content is not easy - yet so many people seem quite happy to take people\'s money despite, for example, having only a passing appreciation of the English language!

As a professional SEO article service I have witnessed a great deal of confusion, misunderstanding and downright idiocy when it comes to writing articles for the web, or content for websites. Creating effective SEO articles or search engine optimized content is not easy - yet so many people seem quite happy to take people's money despite, for example, having only a passing appreciation of the English language!

You've probably come across these sort of articles yourself - ones where the language looks as though all of the words were thrown into a raffle box and pulled out one at a time before being forced into an ugly article. There is a part of me that has a small degree of sympathy, since the English language is, to put it mildly, a vicious beast at times. Elegant, beautiful, historically fascinating and more full of descriptive vocabulary than almost any language on the planet. But she bites, and the consequences can be inadvertently humorous at best, and downright nonsensical at worst.

From the odd little colloquialisms to metaphoric descriptions, understanding the words, syntax and grammar of the English language can in no way adequately prepare you for some of the many ways in which native English writers create imaginative, descriptive, entertaining and interesting articles, content and essays. From cloth earned baboons to spaghetti junctions, the language has more ways of discussing an everyday occurrence, such as the weather, than any other. But there are so many subtleties as well, and it is these subtleties which so often cause readers to do a double take.

Understanding the difference between who and whom, how you can be within and without at the same time, or spend time reading in Reading while buying Polish polish and contemplating why it is possible to be full of yourself while blowing your own trumpet, yet never empty of yourself whilst blowing a tuba. No wonder even native English speakers sometimes pause to scratch their heads. No surprise, then, that so many online SEO article service providers are struggling to succeed.

Like you, I have read countless articles which have quite clearly been written by someone who does not fully comprehend the subtle nuances which can seem harmless enough grammatically or syntactically, but which open up a great chasm of difference in terms of tone, meaning or implication for the reader. I recently saw an article which began by suggesting that the reader might be interested in learning to turn every visitor into a customer; unfortunately the writer chose to phrase it as '...discover how to screw your clients so that they become happy customers.' As I'm sure you will appreciate, the meaning is somewhat at odds with the intention. But how to explain the enormous difference between screw and turn? That's just one of the many thousands of little challenges the English language has waiting up its proverbial sleeve.

But appreciating the linguistic traps awaiting any budding article writer, should online businesses be concerned about using an SEO article service which fails to use language effectively or accurately? The answer is, without doubt, a resounding yes, and for several good reasons. Poorly written articles or articles written in stilted, disjointed or a syntactically confusing way are frequently declined by article directories. Those which make it through often find themselves languishing at the bottom of any directory, failing to capture the interest of a wide readership. Since external backlinks from articles only provide value if the pages are themselves rated worthy of a search engine rank, it is important to make sure that optimized articles are written in a way which maximises readership, so that search engines can recognise not just the keywords and contextual relevance, but the popularity of the article.

If you are looking to boost your website's visibility on the search engines, it is with humans that you need to strive for popularity, and this is only achieved by having articles written in good, meaningful English, which make sense, provide a useful source of information, and which can be read easily. Don't try to screw your customers - use an SEO article service which knows the difference between moving your business further up the search results and farther up the search results, and which offers advice, (not advise), on getting the effect, (not affect), that you're after!
