FrontPage is a program that comes as a part of the MicroSoft Office Applications, so if the computer's operating system is one of the MicroSoft products, there is a good chance that the program is already installed in it. Dreamweaver, on the other hand, is a downloadable product like the Acrobat Reader or Flashplayer. Both products are used to create websites and are designed to make website building easy. On top of that, there are HTML templates to be found online, so designing the website becomes a matter of choosing the right look then editing the colors and fonts to suit one's preference.
The next thing to do is to insert the text in the right places. The easiest way to do this is to write down everything on the notepad, then copy and paste it where they should appear. In some HTML editor programs, one can click on an "Edit Page" button or something similar, and then copy/paste the text unto the text box that appears. The text will then appear when the OK button is depressed.
When the text is done, one can opt to add pictures to the text to give it a better visual appeal. To do this, all one has to do is save the picture as a JPG or JPEG image in the computer, then use the online builder or the HTML editor to upload the picture to the website. Most commands for this procedure starts with something that says "insert picture" or "insert image", then "browse". Once the correct picture file is selected, the OKAY button will automatically upload the picture. One can do the same with other add-ons such as video files, photo galleries, etc. These procedures stay the same for all the pages, so that the rest of the web building exercise becomes a repetitive exercise.
When one is done, clicking on the "Preview" button will show how the website will look in the internet. The next steps will be choosing the right domain name for the website to make it easier to find. After that, the next step would be to look for a good web host. However, these next steps will take us out of our present topic about learning how to build a website. For this purpose, once the website is built, the student can simply practice exploring, editing and tweaking the website as a learning exercise. In doing so, the student is advised to learn the language as well. This knowledge will become extremely helpful when searching for additional information online later on.
