This year also saw user interfaces become much easier to use, as well as aesthetically pleasing. User interfaces are now much richer and way more responsive than ever before. But still, in 2010, many web designers">web designers are likely to continue improving upon the user interface. One of the major improvements we have witnessed this year is the increase of interactive visual cues. For example, when you click on a box, it may give you a cue, such as highlighting it or changing its colour.
Another element web designers have aimed to improve upon is the transparency of backgrounds, in order to incorporate and integrate images into the background without reducing quality of image or it dominating the page.
The focus is still, however, upon the aesthetics of the page. This year the trend in typography has been large and cumbersome lettering, which often goes beyond 36 pixels. However, the chief focus for most designers has been on styles, line height and fonts, The achieved effect has been according to web design specialists a more trustworthy and bold look.
It has also been noticed that designers have veered away from the common fonts, such as Verdana and Arial, and have instead gone for more striking fonts. Consequently, designers are now creating pages that are more interesting looking and attractive.
These five trends are undoubtedly going to be an influence on this year's web design and improvements. As always designers will seek to improve upon last year's discoveries and populist designs.
