I was only months into making money online with my websites when I realized that without some basic HTML code knowledge, I would be unable to grow my businesses the way I wanted too, so to make website changes I had to teach myself HTML codes.
The internet is rich with information about HTML and bookstores are filled with books for beginners to advanced code writers, but what is best for those of us that make a beginner look like a genius and just where do we start? I want to share some basic knowledge of the parts to a website that website owners and bloggers should know and understand.
1. Cascading Style Sheets or CSS was added to HTML as a way to create a standard for the layout of web pages. Based on the information that is in Cascading Style Sheets a website and its following pages will look the same throughout.

2. Adding to the above CSS/HTML codes will be information codes for fonts, bold, size of fonts, color codes, spacing, links, margins and more. If you will take the time to look at the CSS codes of your own website you will be able to pick out different parts of the HTML code that make up the website.

There are many great books on the market that can teach you more about HTML codes and you should know the basics so find a book that you feel comfortable with and that is written so that you understand the information as it is presented. You will also find many websites that are geared to helping newbies in HTML codes, they are extremely well written and in most cases they are free to read.
The website themes and templates that are being offered on the internet today come complete with CSS/HTML page layouts, but it is always important to know at least the basics so that we are able to make changes or tweek our websites.
