Sometimes it may not be feasible for you to pay thousands of pounds for a professional website from a web designer. In some cases it maybe easier for you to setup your own website. This can be achieved very easily nowadays and you do not really need any technical skills.

Sometimes it may not be feasible for you to pay thousands of pounds for a professional website from a web designer. In some cases it maybe easier for you to setup your own website. This can be achieved very easily nowadays and you do not really need any technical skills. There are free places where you can setup websites such as WordPress. You can use the hosted version that comes in a 1 click install in certain hosting packages.

The first thing you may need is to get a domain name and you can use GoDaddy or UKReg for domains. You will then need to point your nameservers to a hosting. Hostgator offer great packages on hosting and you can add multiple domains in some of their packages. Their cheapest option should be enough for you. With hostgator you can login into the control panel and install WordPress with 1 click. All you have to do is fill out a couple of details for the site. Once that is installed you will get a login address and you can enter using the credentials you put into when setting it up. Once you are in it is very easy to navigate and pretty self explanatory. I would recommend you to add your theme first and choose the appearance. The tab on the left allows you to do this and you can click on Appearances and then Add New Themes.

You can browse around the free themes that can be installed within the control panel. If these themes aren't suitable then why not look at some premium WordPress themes. These can range from $30 to $200 and they can be suitable for a showcasing products or just a simple corporate website with a blog.

An example of a website that uses a free WordPress theme is Cast Iron Kettles. One company I highly recommend is Woo Themes which offer a great amount of customisation options.
